Starting out at Phaplu, at around 2400 meters, this new trekking holiday gains height gradually, hiking for an average of around 6 hours each day. This is a camping trek, as the lodges in this region are few and far between. The itinerary has been arranged to allow everyone to acclimatize easily, although you will find walking at these elevations to be a little tougher than at sea-level. For the first part of the trek, we are following good tracks and trails between the many Sherpa villages. On the approach to Dudh Kund, we will encounter narrower forest tracks, but nowhere are the conditions underfoot difficult. The nature of the landscape in this area means that there is a fair amount of ascent and descent and for this reason we have placed this trek in the middle of our moderate grade.

Numbur (6958m), Karyolung, Makalu, Kanchenjung, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Khatang, Thamserku, and a somehow distant perspective of Mt. Everest. Although relatively a short one, the trek provides the opportunity for covering every aspect of Solu Khumbu’s attractions including breathtaking mountain scenery and culture immersion. Passing through pine, oak and thick rhododendron forest to the holy lake of Dudh Kunda, the journey also includes a visit to the famous Thupten Choling monastery and exposes insights into the tradition and culture of Sherpa people residing in the region.
