Starting off with a sightseeing tour of Satsam Chorten through the beautiful pine forest festooned with Spanish moss and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags, Bhutan Historical Tour then proceeds towards the infamous Taktshang monastery (Tiger’s nest) which dramatically clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff plunging some 900 meters into the valley below. The next day begins with a visit to the National memorial Chotren and Dupthop Lhakhang, National library, Paintinig School, Traditional medical institute and Tashichho Dzong (seat of the national government and the central monastic body. The third day takes us to Punakha, some 72 km. drive away from capital Thimphu where we spend a good deal of time observing and exploring many sites of natural, historical and cultural significance. On a clear weather the drive to Punakha through Dochula Pass exposes some of the most beautiful and mesmerizing Himalayan view. Following this we then visit Trongsa and the cultural heartland of Bhutan-the Bumthang valley where we have two full days to explore its scenic beauty. From Bumthang we then drive back to Thimphu for an overnight before finally boarding the plane and concluding the trip the following morning.
