Wonder at the nests of the giant honey bees hanging from cliff overhangs and watch as the fearless honey hunters descend ladders made from split bamboo to cut off the combs to harvest the honey.
This trip will start and finish in Kathmandu, with an opportunity to explore valley’s two historical cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. Other optional visits may include, the Royal Botanical Gardens at Godavari. From Kathmandu we drive to Pokhara and begin our trek in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas. We will be walking at a leisurely pace for around 5–6 hours per day. Besides watching the honey hunting, as we travel through the wonderful countryside, we will meet the local people and be welcomed to their villages, with dancing and entertainment by the local bands.
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu and Patan, back to Kathmandu, welcome dinner in the evening overnight hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu – Besishahar (5hr Drive) O/n at hotel.
Day 04: Besishahar – Ghalegaun (6-7hr trek). O/n local lodge.
Day 05: Ghalegaun – Bhujung (3hrs trek). O/n local lodge.
Day 06: Bhujung – Thaku Bhir (hunting place). O/n camping.
Day 07: ThakuBhir (Free day for watching honey hunting). O/n camping.
Day 08: ThakuBhir – Bhujung (3hrs trek). O/n local lodge.
Day 09: Bhujung – Besishahar (6hrs trek back). O/n at Hotel.
Day 10: Besishahar – Kathmandu. (5hrs Drive Back). O/n at Hotel.
Day 11: Sightseeing of Patan and Bhaktapur and drive to Nagarkot for overnight.
Day 12: Early morning sunrise view / Himalayan panorama and Drive back to Kathmandu, rest of the day free for shopping.
Day 13: Early morning Mt. Flight, back to hotel, lunch and proceed for a half day touring of the Narayanhity Palace Museum -the seat of the former Royal family of Nepal. Overnight at hotel
