The way of life in the Himalaya is determined by the Himalayan topography, altitude, and climate, factors which quite substantially differ from region to region, plus, naturally, by the cultural diversity of the individual ethnic groups. According to the 2001 census, there are 103 different ethnic groups in Nepal speaking at least 93 different languages. Closer look at the variety of ethnic groups that populate this impressive mountain range reveals fascinating mix of architectural house styles. In terms of settlement characteristics, each of the Himalayan racial groups prefers its own altitude and peculiar habitat. No other part of the Himalayas is as rich in cultural and topographic diversity as Nepal. As a home staying visitors, this program is intended to provide you with the opportunity for exploring and experiencing aspects of these diversities around Kathmandu valley rim; which are as contrasting as they are captivating.

Day 01:  Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to the host family house, introduction, dinner and overnight

Day 02:  Drive to Sundarijal and then hike to Chisapani, stay with the host family, dinner and overnight

Day 03:  Breakfast with the host family, half day excursion of Chisapani, lunch and join the host family members in the preparation and observation of typical Nepalese dinner. Overnight

Day 04:  After breakfast join the family chores and participate in the day to day household activities by doing things of your choice, overnight

Day 05:  After breakfast hike to Sankhu-Changunarayan and then drive to Bhaktapur for overnight with the host family, introduction, dinner, entertainment and rest

Day 06:  Half day sightseeing of Bhaktapur with one of the family members as your guide, back to the host family, lunch and drive Nagpur via Bhakundebesi. Introduction with the host family, dinner, entertainment, and overnight.

Day 07:  After breakfast full day excursion of Nagpur; hiking as far as the base of Timal Himal with light snacks on the way or whatever is available at the local grocers. Back to the host family by late afternoon; join the family in the preparation of typical Nepalese dinner, entertainment and overnight.

Day 08:  After breakfast join the family chores and participate in the day to day household activities by doing things of your choice, overnight

Day 09:  After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu, transfer to the host family, dinner, entertainment and rest

Day 10:  Full day rest, watching the Nepali TV channel with the host family members and testing the Nepalese delicacies the whole day, late afternoon stroll  in and around with one of the family members as your guide, dinner, entertainment and rest.

Day 11:  Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur with one of the family members as your guide, back home, dinner and rest.

Day 12:  After breakfast half day sightseeing of Patan, rest of the day free for shopping or sorting out personal stuff

Day 13:  Early morning Mt. Flight, back home, rest and relax and farewell dinner in the evening

Day 14:  Final departure
